Senior Software Engineer, Product Security

Job Description

Reddit is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Product Security to play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of Reddit's systems and data. The candidate will work closely with internal and external partners, identify security risks, develop mitigation strategies, and drive security features in Reddit's products. Reddit is a community of communities, built on shared interests, passion, and trust, and is home to the most open and authentic conversations on the internet.Responsibilities:

• Engage in peer programming related to security and privacy components.
• Conduct security architecture reviews.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations on security requirements.
• Act as a glue between infrastructure and development teams.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders.
• Act as a primary point of contact for security-related inquiries.
• Conduct threat modeling assessments.
• Identify and evaluate potential security vulnerabilities.
• Promote security awareness and best practices.
• Participate in security incident response activities.

Requirements:

• Deep experience with Golang programming languages.
• Familiarity with DevOps technologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in security partnerships, information security, or a related role.
• Strong understanding of security principles, best practices, and industry standards.
• Experience with threat modeling, security risk assessment and mitigation techniques.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, GCP), infrastructure components (Redis, Postgres, Cassandra), and distributed systems design.
• Experience with vendor security assessments.
• Experience with security compliance.
