10-11th Math Associate Instructor (Summer 2025)

Job Description

SEO is seeking a passionate and experienced Math Associate Instructor to join their Summer Academy in New York City. This role involves co-teaching alongside Instructors, facilitating classroom instruction, teaching mini-lessons, organizing small group and one-on-one instruction, and providing additional Scholar support. The Associate Instructor will work with motivated high school students, implementing a rigorous college prep curriculum. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to students' academic growth and development.Responsibilities:

• Co-teach four to five periods of Math, covering for instructors when needed.
• Utilize instructional technologies such as Brightspace, Desmos, GSuit applications, and Zoom.
• Prepare lesson plans and materials, adjusting pacing based on student needs.
• Host open-door lunch tutoring sessions.
• Promote a positive classroom culture.
• Collaborate with SEO staff and instructors.
• Implement feedback from instructional coaches.

Requirements:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a content-related field.
• Teaching certification, K-12 classroom teaching experience, or experience teaching at the college or university level.
• Experience working with high school-aged students.
• Comfortable with navigating technological learning systems.
• Expertise in advanced high school-level Mathematics (Algebra & Precalculus).
