Technical Recruiting Lead

Perplexity is seeking a Technical Recruiting Lead to manage its growing engineering recruiting function. The ideal candidate will have experience as a people manager and full-cycle recruiter, with expertise in growing teammates, working with stakeholders, sourcing, screening, and hiring technical talent at a high-growth startup. This role is based in San Francisco.Perplexity has experienced growth since launching its conversational answer engine in 2022. The company's employee base grew nearly 300% in 2024.Responsibilities:

• Manage a small team and act as a player coach
• Handle a demanding req load while coaching a small team of recruiters, sourcers, and coordinators
• Manage the entire recruitment process from start to finish for engineering, product, design and some business roles
• Design and implement effective recruitment strategies to identify, attract, assess and bring in exceptional technical candidates
• Be creative through sourcing, advertising, social media, and networking events to identify potential candidates
• Collaborate with a broad set of stakeholders and candidates
• Directly handle leadership candidates and be a skilled, strategic closer

Requirements:

• 1+ year of experience managing recruiters
• 4+ years of proven experience as a full cycle technical recruiter within the tech industry
• Startup or very fast growth company experience
• Strong understanding of technical roles and requirements, with the ability to assess candidates' technical skills effectively
• Proficiency in using various sourcing tools and techniques, including social media recruiting and Boolean search
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage candidates and stakeholders effectively
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, roles and candidates simultaneously
• Hands-on experience with Greenhouse, Gem, LinkedIn Recruiter, etc.
• Proactive and comfortable with ambiguity
