Job Description
Rocket Lab is seeking a Systems Engineer II - Mechanical and Fluid to join their Neutron team in Auckland, New Zealand. This role involves providing cross-functional support to align mechanical and fluid system designs with the program's strategy, requirements, operations, and technical maturity phases. The Systems Engineer will work closely with design teams to verify requirements through analysis and test, contribute to the evaluation of technical program decisions, and communicate internally and externally on product status. They will also proactively identify and solve technical challenges and define and uphold high-quality engineering processes.
Responsibilities: - Drive cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components and fluid systems.
- Verify requirements through analysis and testing, ensuring proper documentation.
- Contribute to technical program decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate product status internally and externally.
- Proactively solve technical challenges.
- Define and uphold high-quality engineering processes.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 1-5 years of industry experience in a relevant technical field.
- Experience in delivering complex multidisciplinary systems.
- Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong aptitude to learn new material.
- Working knowledge of Engineering design, CAD, Engineering drawings, and manufacturing processes.
