Staff Network Engineer-Federal

Job Description

Zscaler, a leading cloud security company, is seeking a Staff Network Engineer to join their Cloud Operations team. This is a remote role based in the USA. The Staff Network Engineer will collaborate with a team of skilled engineers to deploy, operate, monitor, and support network infrastructures across multiple data centers. They will act as the L3 technical escalation point, taking a lead role in managing and resolving high-severity or critical incidents. The engineer will also perform thorough peer reviews on configuration and change scripts and offer expert technical guidance and mentorship to the team.

• Collaborating with engineers to manage network infrastructures.
• Acting as the L3 technical escalation point for incidents.
• Performing peer reviews on configuration and change scripts.
• Offering technical guidance and mentorship.
• Participating in an on-call rotation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Experience with ticketing and inventory systems in remote Data Center operations.
• 6+ years of experience on high-speed copper and fiber Ethernet switch network.
• Experience with Layer-2 spanning-tree protocols and Layer-3 BGP protocols.
• Hands-on experience in BGP routing operation, design, and troubleshooting in both IPv4 and IPv6.
