Engineering Manager, Frontier Data

Job Description

Scale AI is seeking an Engineering Manager for their Frontier Data team. This role involves managing a team of engineers and collaborating with customers, ML researchers, and operators. The Engineering Manager will drive technical delivery, build features end-to-end, and influence the engineering team's culture.

The Frontier Data team builds datasets to enhance cutting-edge LLM capabilities. They work closely with AI labs to scale up human data in new modalities, supporting the entire lifecycle of human data input.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing the engineering team and driving technical delivery
• Delivering experiments at a high velocity and level of quality
• Building features end-to-end, including front-end, back-end, system design, debugging, and testing
• Influencing the culture, values, and processes of the engineering team
• Inspiring and mentoring less experienced engineers

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience and 2 years of management experience
• Track record of shipping high-quality products at scale
• Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to turn ideas into engineering solutions
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team
• Excitement to join a dynamic, hybrid team in San Francisco or New York City
