ML Research Operations Lead

Scale AI is seeking a highly motivated ML Research Operations Lead to bridge the gap between operations, engineering, frontier data, and SEAL teams. This individual will play a crucial role in streamlining machine learning workflows, managing data production pipelines, and ensuring seamless handoffs between various teams. Beyond process optimization, the role offers the opportunity to co-author research papers and contribute to advancements in AI capabilities, safety, and security.Scale AI is looking for someone to drive the planning, execution, and successful completion of machine learning ops research projects, experiments and hybrid data pipelines with members of the Scale research team and external research labs. The ideal candidate will identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to streamline operations and accelerate research timelines. They will also facilitate effective communication and collaboration between research scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders, acting as a liaison to ensure alignment of research objectives with organizational goals. Preparing and delivering comprehensive reports, presentations, and updates to executive leadership and key stakeholders is also a key aspect of this role.Responsibilities:

• Drive the planning, execution, and successful completion of machine learning ops research projects.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to streamline operations.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between research scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Act as a liaison to ensure alignment of research objectives with organizational goals.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports, presentations, and updates.
• Collaborate with EPD teams to develop custom solutions tailored to the ML projects needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
• 1-5 years of experience in machine learning project management or research operations roles.
• Proven track record of successfully leading and managing ML research projects.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary research teams.
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, data processing, and AI model development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and familiarity with ML frameworks.
