Job Description
Figure is seeking a Product Counsel to contribute to building out Figure’s innovative Marketplace and Figure Markets’ products. Figure Markets has a global marketplace platform that supports issuing and trading of digital assets, securities and non-securities, using blockchain. The ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following jurisdictions: Europe, Asia, Americas, Middle East. The Legal team plays a central role in Figure Markets’ hyper growth and the realization of their mission of leveraging blockchain to transform financial services.
What this role involves:
- Becoming the chief product expert on the Legal team, interacting with Figure’s latest products and offerings.
- Buying and selling cryptocurrencies across centralized and decentralized exchanges.
- Mastering related legal complexities and advising the business accordingly.
- Providing leadership in legal affairs for markets and products.
- Offering comprehensive legal guidance throughout the product life cycle.
What Figure is looking for:
- Working knowledge of cryptocurrencies and experience buying and selling crypto on centralized and decentralized exchanges.
- 5+ years of experience practicing as in-house counsel for a financial services firm.
- Substantial subject matter expertise in securities matters.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to prepare and negotiate financial agreements.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the compliance and regulatory requirements around financial markets and crypto assets.
- Product counseling experience in blockchain, crypto and securities products.
- J.D. and membership with at least one state bar.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
