Job Description

PlayStation is seeking a Data Scientist II to join their Decision Science team in London. This role focuses on designing and interpreting experiments to evaluate the impact of various initiatives. The Data Scientist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed experimentation into product development and decision-making.

The Data Scientist will work for Sony Interactive Entertainment.

What this role involves:

  • Designing and analysing A/B tests and quasi-experiments.
  • Supporting test setup, hypothesis development, and interpretation of results.
  • Independently retrieving and analysing data using SQL and Python.
  • Translating experimental results into actionable recommendations.
  • Contributing to the development and adoption of experimentation methodologies and tools.
  • Staying current on developments in experimentation and causal inference.
  • Sharing insights and collaborating with fellow data scientists.

Requirements:

  • Master’s or PhD in Statistics, Economics, or Econometrics (or other quantitative field).
  • 3–5 years of experience in a data science experimentation-focused role (less with PhD).
  • Solid understanding of A/B testing concepts and causal inference methods.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and transformation.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Broad knowledge of statistical techniques and machine learning modelling methods.
  • Ability to communicate data-driven insights to cross-functional stakeholders.
