Insomniac Games, under the PlayStation brand, is seeking a skilled Boss Designer to contribute to the creation of world-class boss fights. This role involves overseeing and executing boss fight designs, encompassing features, mechanics, and systems. The Boss Designer will also be involved in level/world design and helping to establish conventions and processes for product creation. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of melee combat systems, enemy design, and boss design.Role involves:
Creating documentation and visual design materials.
Building basic level layouts.
Implementing gameplay and game structures.
Designing and prototyping key gameplay systems.
Addressing bugs and gameplay issues.
Providing constructive feedback on all aspects of the product.
Requirements:
Advanced knowledge of level editing tools and scripting (Unreal Engine, Unity, or similar).
Intermediate knowledge of Maya or other major 3D modeling programs.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Thorough understanding of melee combat systems, enemy design, and boss design.
