Machine Learning Engineer, Public Sector

Job Description

Scale is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to enhance its products and customer experience by applying computer vision, deep learning, deep reinforcement learning, and natural language processing techniques in a production setting. The engineer will work within a hybrid human-machine system supporting ML pipelines for federal government clients. The role involves improving existing models, identifying new opportunities, and building a scalable ML platform.

Responsibilities include:

• Implementing state-of-the-art models to solve customer problems.
• Improving existing models through retraining and hyperparameter tuning.
• Collaborating with product and research teams to identify product improvements.
• Working with large datasets to develop and fine-tune models.
• Building a scalable ML platform to automate the ML service.
• Acting as a representative for machine learning applications within the organization.
• Multitasking and quickly learning new technologies.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience using computer vision, deep learning, deep reinforcement learning, or natural language processing in a production environment.
• Solid background in algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming.
• Strong programming skills in Python or Javascript, with experience in TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.
