Job Description
Sezzle is seeking a Senior Counsel, Fintech & Regulatory to provide legal and regulatory guidance. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant product launches, strategic partnerships, and operational enhancements. The Senior Counsel will provide practical, business-minded legal advice in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising on strategic transactions with fintechs and e-commerce players.
- Applying complex financial regulations to manage legal risks.
- Supporting innovative product development.
- Conducting legal research on fintech trends and digital assets.
- Engaging with regulators and leading licensing and exam management.
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments.
- Providing legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
- Supporting the Compliance team on regulatory matters.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years in legal/regulatory roles in consumer financial services or fintech.
- Expertise in federal laws and regulations (EFTA/Reg E, FCRA/FACTA, etc.).
- Strong understanding of banking and lending operations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and provide practical advice.
- Demonstrated business judgment in a high-growth context.
- Team-player mindset.
