Job Description
Next Chapter Technology (NCT), a software company headquartered in Eden Prairie, MN, is seeking a Sr. Account Executive to drive sales in new geographic territories. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned hunter and closer with experience selling solutions across state and local public sectors. This role involves leading the sales strategy within a defined territory, focusing on expanding NCT's software offerings. The Sr. Account Executive will report to the VP of Sales & Marketing.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a territory sales plan.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to contract negotiation.
- Achieve sales goals by assessing client needs and applying modern sales methodologies.
- Research and maintain strong knowledge of the public sector and competitive GovTech landscape.
- Rapidly learn the product and become an expert on clients’ industry and business needs.
- Represent the company at industry events.
- Adhere to predetermined metrics and accurately forecast opportunities.
- Prepare reports, proposals, and other documentation.
- Establish and develop relationships with industry entities.
- Manage opportunities and deal velocity in the CRM.
- Collaborate with marketing and customer success teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Five (5) or more years of sales experience within the software industry.
- Experience in the GovTech space or selling to public sector clients is a plus.
- Results-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Experience with applying sales methodologies (e.g., Challenger).
- Proficiency with sales management software and CRM (HubSpot).
- Strong ability to balance persuasion with professionalism.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.
- Ability to travel at least 25% of the time.
