Job Description
GoFundMe is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to drive the technical vision and execution of its Integrations platform. This role involves serving as a senior individual contributor on a high-impact team, focusing on core integration surfaces such as Public APIs, Webhooks, Salesforce integrations (NPC, NPSP), and Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) tools like Workato and Zapier. The Staff Software Engineer will lead architecture efforts, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to build robust, scalable integration solutions that connect GoFundMe to the broader ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned technical leader who thrives on solving complex problems, setting architectural direction, and leading by example through hands-on contributions. This is a hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with an expectation of being in the office three times a week.
The role involves:
- Defining and driving the technical roadmap for the Integrations platform.
- Leading the design and implementation of core integration components.
- Serving as a hands-on expert in software design and system architecture.
- Guiding the team’s use of AWS services.
- Evaluating and integrating with third-party platforms like Salesforce, Workato, and Zapier.
- Championing the use of AI-assisted development tools.
- Mentoring and supporting engineers through design reviews and technical coaching.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on backend and systems integration.
- Expertise in designing and building robust APIs and scalable integration architectures.
- Experience in analyzing and preventing performance and scale problems.
- Proficiency in at least two of the following: Node.js, Python, Java.
- Strong AWS experience.
- A product mindset and a pragmatic approach to technical decision-making.
- A strong mentoring orientation.
