The Food Safety Manager role at the company involves assisting with the development of Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs. This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to company policies, food safety standards, government regulations, and industry best practices including GMP and HACCP/HARPC. The Food Safety Manager will integrate quality assurance into all functions and roles.
Role involves:
Driving continuous improvement projects.
Implementing and maintaining Quality policies and procedures.
Fostering and maintaining a positive Food Safety and Quality culture.
Monitoring and verifying corrective and preventive action procedures.
Managing team building and evaluating the skills and training needed of the hourly QA team members.
Developing and executing training programs.
Supporting other departments in accordance with business requirements.
Ensuring Food Safety compliance to new or revised regulations.
Managing the GMP Audit process.
Leading and managing regulatory and 3rd party audits.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Science, Food Science, or related field, or 5+ years QA food processing experience.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret technical instructions.
Certifications in HACCP, SQF, PCQI, statistical process control and analysis or related experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and legal documents.
Ability to respond to inquiries from customers and regulatory agencies.
Ability to present information to management and public groups.
