Job Description
Scale is seeking a Software Engineer (Product) to join its rapidly growing International Public Sector team. This team focuses on using AI to address critical challenges facing the public sector worldwide. The Software Engineer will turn prototypes into scalable AI applications and build tools for efficient data creation for AI models. Scale aims to enable the public sector to transform operations and better serve citizens through technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain full stack web applications
  • Leverage database systems to manage and query data efficiently
  • Deploy and manage infrastructure on cloud service environments
  • Contribute to horizontal platform features
  • Work cross-functionally with design, product, and data teams

Requirements:
  • A strong engineering background (Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field)
  • 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience
  • Proficiency in React, Python, Node, Next.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, MongoDB, or similar
  • Solid background in algorithms, data structures, databases and object-oriented programming

Nice to have:
  • Experience working at a startup or in a forward-deployed role
  • Experience deploying infrastructure on cloud service providers
  • Experience building user interfaces and applications that leverage AI models
