Affirm is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Comms Platform team. This team manages critical services, handling transactional communication via email, SMS, and push notifications. The role involves ensuring seamless operations through attention to detail, proactive maintenance, and swift response times.About Affirm

What this role involves:

• Owning and delivering quarterly goals for the team.
• Leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems.
• Collaborating with product management, design, and analytics.
• Identifying and resolving project, process, technology, or business issues.
• Supporting the operations and availability of team artifacts.
• Fostering a culture of quality and ownership.
• Developing talent on the team through feedback and guidance.
• Participating in an on-call rotation.

What we look for:

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin.
• A track record of developing highly available distributed systems using technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience defining a technical plan for the delivery of a significant feature or system component.
• Proficiency in making significant changes in a large code base.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
