Job Description

WellPower is seeking a Residential Counselor to facilitate activities of daily living for consumers, helping them become more self-sufficient. The Residential Counselor will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing direct service care to consumers with severe and persistent mental illness. This role involves facilitating group therapy, managing intakes/discharges, monitoring medications, creating a safe environment, coordinating treatment, and advocating for individuals.Responsibilities include providing individual psychotherapy, coordinating clinical care, assessing consumers, and training them in activities of daily living. The counselor will also complete intake and discharge tasks, maintain household safety, document consumer interactions, and respond to emergencies.

• Provide individual psychotherapy with consumers
• Facilitate group therapy sessions
• Coordinate clinical care with case management services
• Assess consumers and provide appropriate interventions
• Encourage and train consumers in activities of daily living
• Complete intake and discharge tasks
• Maintain household safety
• Document consumer interactions
• Respond to consumer and building emergencies

Requirements:

• RC I: Actively enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in social work, psychology, human services, or related field.
• RC II: Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field.
• QMAP (Qualified Medication Administration Person)
• CPR & First Aid
• Physical required
• One year of mental health experience or in related field preferred
• Must be 20 years of age or older
