Job Description
WellPower is seeking a Vocational Employment Specialist to join their team in Denver. This role involves vocational rehabilitation activities that support consumers in work adjustment training, job search and placement, and skill training for various employment opportunities. The Vocational Employment Specialist will coordinate employment services, develop community jobs, work with employers, and partner with outside agencies. They will also collaborate with treatment sites to establish mutual outcomes for the people WellPower serves.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing competitive community jobs and skill-building activities.
- Providing vocational assessments.
- Identifying appropriate programs and ensuring access for individuals served.
- Coaching individuals and providing interventions.
- Researching and developing community contacts for job placements.
- Completing data and reporting.
- Coordinating with clinical departments.
- Finding employment for a diverse population with mental illness.
- Working in the community 60% of the time.
Requirements:
- VC I: GED or High School Diploma plus Colorado Peer Family Specialist Certification.
- VC II: Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation or related field.
- VC III: Master's degree in vocational rehabilitation or related field with one year of experience.
- Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner or willingness to obtain certification within one year.
- Valid driver's license.
