Job Description
RxSense is seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to support its production and non-production environments. The role involves providing day-to-day database support for .NET applications using SQL Server, primarily on AWS RDS. The DBA will participate in an on-call rotation and work in a 24/7/365 organization.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose performance opportunities using monitoring tools and provide feedback to developers.
- Support QA and dev teams with backups/restores of databases and instance snapshots.
- Manage assigned tasks within the Jira ticket system.
- Provision access to users.
- Participate in weekly production code releases and hot fixes.
- Manage replication jobs in data replication tool (CloudBasic).
- Review Git pull requests related to data model, query, or schema changes.
- Respond to ad hoc reporting requests.
- Apply patches and updates.
- Assist auditors to respond to internal and external audit requests.
- Provide cross-functional communication and support to engineering and product teams.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a production support SQL Server DBA, preferably in an AWS or GCP environment.
- Proficient with TSQL, DML, DDL, SSMS.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Must understand how to interpret a query plan, have deep knowledge of indexes and statistics.
- Able to respond to calls within the SLA when on-call.
- Able to import/export data using common SQL Server tools such as BCP, SSIS or Powershell.
- Proficient with Powershell (particularly dbatools) and a working knowledge of Bash.
- Experience with source control systems such as Git, TFS, SVN.
- Passion for embracing and learning new technologies.
- Experience with High Availability techniques.
- Experience working with government (Medicaid, Medicare) security and government policies.
