Job Description

RxSense is seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to support its production and non-production environments. The role involves providing day-to-day database support for .NET applications using SQL Server, primarily on AWS RDS. The DBA will participate in an on-call rotation and work in a 24/7/365 organization.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose performance opportunities using monitoring tools and provide feedback to developers.
• Support QA and dev teams with backups/restores of databases and instance snapshots.
• Manage assigned tasks within the Jira ticket system.
• Provision access to users.
• Participate in weekly production code releases and hot fixes.
• Manage replication jobs in data replication tool (CloudBasic).
• Review Git pull requests related to data model, query, or schema changes.
• Respond to ad hoc reporting requests.
• Apply patches and updates.
• Assist auditors to respond to internal and external audit requests.
• Provide cross-functional communication and support to engineering and product teams.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a production support SQL Server DBA, preferably in an AWS or GCP environment.
• Proficient with TSQL, DML, DDL, SSMS.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Must understand how to interpret a query plan, have deep knowledge of indexes and statistics.
• Able to respond to calls within the SLA when on-call.
• Able to import/export data using common SQL Server tools such as BCP, SSIS or Powershell.
• Proficient with Powershell (particularly dbatools) and a working knowledge of Bash.
• Experience with source control systems such as Git, TFS, SVN.
• Passion for embracing and learning new technologies.
• Experience with High Availability techniques.
• Experience working with government (Medicaid, Medicare) security and government policies.
