Staff Accountant

DRW, a diversified trading firm, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team in Chicago. The Staff Accountant will have the opportunity to develop accounting and analysis skills in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

What this role involves:

• Performing daily General Ledger functions, including cash and trading account reconciliation.
• Booking depreciation, and income and expense accruals to support month-end close.
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Responding to requests from regulators and external auditors.
• Maintaining high level of data integrity of financial information amongst complex accounting and back office systems.
• Analyzing detailed trade information and reconcile data between internal trade systems and external statements.
• Participating in month-end close process over several legal entities.
• Leading ad-hoc projects and create ad-hoc reports as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA preferred.
• Strong experience creating reports in Excel.
• Previous experience working with Great Plains or other accounting software preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Strong organization skills and detail orientation.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and effectively manage changing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What DRW offers:

• Annual base salary range of $75,000 to $110,000, depending on experience.
