Job Description
Axon is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer II to join their Global Quality team. This role is crucial in supporting the full product lifecycle, ensuring high-quality manufacturing processes and products that meet or exceed Axon’s standards and customer expectations. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer II will work Friday to Monday 8AM-6PM onsite at Axon's Deer Valley and Scottsdale, Arizona offices.What this role involves:
  • Participating in the Axon Product Lifecycle (APL) process.
  • Leading nonconforming material review (NCMR/MRB) and manage material dispositions.
  • Driving and managing 8D investigations and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Developing and maintaining FAIRs, PPAP documentation, and AQL sampling plans.
  • Providing engineering support to Receiving Inspection.
  • Supporting new product introduction (NPI) through validation, process control, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Performing risk assessment and drive risk mitigation.
  • Implementing and monitoring Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems.
  • Interfacing with manufacturing, engineering, and design teams.
  • Participating in internal and supplier audits.
  • Managing quality-related documentation.
  • Partnering with supply chain and procurement to ensure supplier quality and performance metrics are met.
  • Supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives and contribute to Kaizen events and value stream mapping.
  • Communicating effectively across departments.
Requirements for this role:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Quality Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing quality engineering role.
  • Experience with CAPA, RCA/8D, PPAP, FAIR, PFMEA, and validation activities.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (CSSGB/CSSBB) or equivalent experience in process improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610 and relevant industry standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools and statistical analysis software such as Minitab, JMP, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and inspection techniques.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and technical report writing skills.
  • Strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.
