Axon is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer II to join their Global Quality team. This role is crucial in supporting the full product lifecycle, ensuring high-quality manufacturing processes and products that meet or exceed Axon’s standards and customer expectations. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer II will work Friday to Monday 8AM-6PM onsite at Axon's Deer Valley and Scottsdale, Arizona offices.
What this role involves: - Participating in the Axon Product Lifecycle (APL) process.
- Leading nonconforming material review (NCMR/MRB) and manage material dispositions.
- Driving and managing 8D investigations and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Developing and maintaining FAIRs, PPAP documentation, and AQL sampling plans.
- Providing engineering support to Receiving Inspection.
- Supporting new product introduction (NPI) through validation, process control, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Performing risk assessment and drive risk mitigation.
- Implementing and monitoring Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems.
- Interfacing with manufacturing, engineering, and design teams.
- Participating in internal and supplier audits.
- Managing quality-related documentation.
- Partnering with supply chain and procurement to ensure supplier quality and performance metrics are met.
- Supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives and contribute to Kaizen events and value stream mapping.
- Communicating effectively across departments.
Requirements for this role: - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Quality Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing quality engineering role.
- Experience with CAPA, RCA/8D, PPAP, FAIR, PFMEA, and validation activities.
- Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (CSSGB/CSSBB) or equivalent experience in process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610 and relevant industry standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools and statistical analysis software such as Minitab, JMP, or similar.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and inspection techniques.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and technical report writing skills.
- Strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.
