Job Description
Axon is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join their Global Quality team. This role is based onsite in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer II will support the full product lifecycle, ensuring high-quality manufacturing processes and products that meet or exceed Axon’s standards and customer expectations.
Role involves:
- Participating in the Axon Product Lifecycle (APL) process
- Leading nonconforming material review (NCMR/MRB)
- Driving and managing 8D investigations and root cause analysis (RCA)
- Developing and maintaining FAIRs, PPAP documentation, and AQL sampling plans
- Providing engineering support to Receiving Inspection
- Supporting new product introduction (NPI) through validation, process control, and risk mitigation strategies
- Performing risk assessment and drive risk mitigation
- Implementing and monitoring Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems
- Interfacing with manufacturing, engineering, and design teams
- Participating in internal and supplier audits
- Managing quality-related documentation
- Partnering with supply chain and procurement to ensure supplier quality and performance metrics are met
- Supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives and contribute to Kaizen events and value stream mapping
- Communicating effectively across departments
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Quality Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing quality engineering role.
- Experience with CAPA, RCA/8D, PPAP, FAIR, PFMEA, and validation activities.
- Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (CSSGB/CSSBB) or equivalent experience in process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610 and relevant industry standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools and statistical analysis software such as Minitab, JMP, or similar.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and inspection techniques.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and technical report writing skills.
- Strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.
