FREENOW is seeking a highly motivated Backend Engineer to join their B2B team in Athens. This team focuses on developing innovative mobility solutions for medium and large-sized businesses, aiming to enhance the business traveler experience and streamline administrative processes for corporate clients. The role involves collaborating within a multinational, diverse team that values excellence and continuous improvement.

The Backend Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining backend services.
  • Taking end-to-end ownership of feature development and technical improvements.
  • Collaborating with engineers, product managers, and customer success teams.
  • Exploring and incorporating AI-powered enhancements.
  • Shaping and evolving team processes.
  • Maintaining system reliability and observability.
  • Sharing knowledge and discussing tech trends within the backend community.

Requirements for this role include:

  • Solid experience with backend development.
  • Hands-on experience with technologies like Kotlin, Spring, PostgreSQL, and Kafka (or a willingness to learn).
  • Ownership of work and a proactive approach to improving code quality and architecture.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, self-organized team environment.
  • Open-mindedness, adaptability, and strong communication skills in English.
