Job Description
Interactive Brokers is seeking a Data Protection Paralegal to join their London office. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day legal and data protection requirements of the business. This role requires a highly organised and proactive individual with strong administrative and teamworking skills.Responsibilities include:
- Processing Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR)
- Processing Erasure Requests
- Assisting with investigatory work for customer enquiries and complaints
- Drafting responses for enquiries from clients and staff
- Maintaining internal data protection logs
- Conducting obfuscation checks
- Reviewing and proofreading legal documentation
- Assisting with legal and data protection research
- Assisting with completing and maintaining Data Protection Impact Assessments
- Archiving and organising contracts and data protection documentation
- Assisting with vendor management review process
- Communicating with developers and stakeholders
- Assisting with general office administrative tasks
Requirements:
- A professional qualification or certification in data protection is desirable, such as IAPP’s CIPP E/M/T.
- Ability to thrive in a high-growth business and maintain a high standard of attention to detail.
- 1+ years of experience in a legal setting or data protection is desirable.
- Basic understanding or interest in global data protection/privacy laws and regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of Jira and Confluence is desirable.
- Fluent in English; any additional languages are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills.
