Technical Advisor

Job Description

• Analyzing technical reports from Service Centers and preparing field technical reports for Technical Service Operations and Warranty Administration (TSO&WA).
• Investigating technical problems and assisting Service Centers with repairs, including inspecting customer vehicles to verify issues and supervise repairs.
• Submitting market product reports reflecting customer requirements and comparisons with competitors.
• Guiding Service Centers in solving technical problems using information from TSO&WA and other Service Centers.
• Participating in local and regional new model conformity test drives, reporting results, and following up on improvements.
• Conducting on-the-job training for service staff on new mechanisms and technical problem solving.
• Identifying top technical problems based on technical reports and warranty claims, and reviewing and signing off on claims.
• Following up on and evaluating test parts results, and submitting technical reports to management.
• Monitoring Service Centers in areas such as technical reporting, warranty business, warranty parts storage, new vehicle storage, and parts testing/recovery.

• Automotive Engineering knowledge.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or associate's degree in an automotive-related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in the Automotive Industry (e.g., problem-solving and repair experience).
• Computer skills/data analysis.
• Customer handling skills.
• Familiarity with technical report and market product report writing.
• Familiarity with new vehicle testing and evaluation.
