Datacentre Operations Engineer (Lefdal Mine Datacentre)

Job Description

XTX Markets is seeking a Datacentre Operations Engineer to support the physical layer of its HPC Cluster located in Lefdal Mine Datacentre, Norway. The role is full-time and permanent, requiring on-call availability outside of shift hours, including weekends and public holidays. Overtime may be necessary during peak operational periods or for planned maintenance.

The Datacentre Operations Engineer will play a key role in deploying new infrastructure, conducting hardware installations, coordinating with IT vendors, handling inventory management, and supporting large-scale projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of datacentre infrastructure and industry best practices.

Responsibilities include:

• Deploying new infrastructure, including network devices and cabling.
• Conducting hardware installations, upgrades, and repairs.
• Coordinating with IT vendors for maintenance and support.
• Handling inventory management and logistics.
• Supporting the execution of large-scale projects.
• Contributing to network design.

Requirements include:

• Extensive experience working in datacentres with high-speed networking.
• Working knowledge of networking, hardware, and server software.
• Hands-on experience with high-speed networking technologies.
• Strong knowledge of networking hardware, software, and configuration.
• Comfort working inside servers.
• Familiarity with international shipping and supply chains.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Norwegian.
