Moniepoint, a leading African financial ecosystem, is seeking a Portfolio Manager to oversee the loan portfolio and lead a team of Field Credit Officers in Benue, Nigeria. The Portfolio Manager will set performance targets, manage credit risk, maintain a healthy loan portfolio, and drive business and loan product growth. He will work closely with other departments to uphold credit policies and ensure successful loan disbursement and repayment.

The role involves:

  • Supervising and mentoring Field Credit Officers (FCOs).
  • Developing and implementing strategies to grow a profitable loan portfolio.
  • Monitoring overall portfolio performance.
  • Ensuring adherence to credit policies and procedures.
  • Conducting credit risk assessments.
  • Maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Preparing portfolio performance reports.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with business clients.
  • Identifying process gaps and inefficiencies.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience in lending, credit, or portfolio management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Demonstrable experience in credit risk analysis and financial analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the financial sector.
  • Proven track record in managing and growing a loan portfolio in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be resident in the state of responsibility.
