Database Developer – MS SQL Server

Job Description

Rimes is seeking a Database Developer to optimize their Azure SQL environment. The Database Developer will collaborate with engineering and managed service teams to resolve performance issues, guide design decisions, and maintain a scalable data platform. This role involves hands-on performance tuning and strategic input into database architecture.

• Improve database efficiency through index tuning, query refinement, and execution plan analysis.
• Identify and resolve inefficiencies to maintain smooth database operations.
• Develop stored procedures, scripts, and automation processes for streamlined management.
• Shape schema design, indexing approaches, and capacity planning to support future scalability and efficiency.
• Utilize tools like SQL Profiler, Query Store, DMVs, and Azure Monitor to track performance and ensure system health.
• Configure, scale, and optimize Azure SQL Database instances with best practices in automation, service tiers, and elastic pools.
• Oversee database transitions, patch management, and version updates.
• Maintain comprehensive records of configurations, policies, and procedures.
• Work closely with DevOps and development teams to integrate database enhancements into CI/CD workflows.
• Stay ahead of evolving database technologies and best practices.
