Production Supervisor, Composites (Pipeline)

Job Description

Rocket Lab is seeking a Production Supervisor, Composites to join their Space Structures Complex facility in Middle River, Maryland. This role is pivotal in leading a production team focused on building, assembling, and integrating large composite assemblies for the Neutron rocket. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for operational leadership, engaging with the shop floor, and supporting design, manufacturing engineering, and production efforts.Responsibilities include managing a team of composite technicians, setting daily and weekly objectives, tracking team output, driving improvement projects, ensuring adherence to health and safety policies, and contributing to team member training and development.What this role involves:

Requirements:

• High school diploma and 5+ years of experience as a composite technician in Aerospace or similar high-performance composite production environment.
• 1+ year of team leadership experience in a production environment.
• Experience with operations management, including daily scheduling, building, operating, and maintaining complex facility systems.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow manufacturing instructions and drawings.
• Knowledge of safety processes and experience with handling hazardous goods and materials.
• Proven ability to align capacity to development and production forecasts.
• Proven ability to manage resources to meet expected test rate increases.
• Experience with implementing techniques of lean manufacturing.
• Proficient with computers, the ability to use MS Office, shop floor management software (ERP/MES) and related programs.
