Manufacturing Engineer II/Senior - RF (Avionics)

Job Description

Rocket Lab is seeking a RF Manufacturing Engineer II/Senior to be based in Long Beach, CA. The candidate will be responsible for process development, implementation, and sustainment of RF Components and Assemblies used across all programs. They will support the Manufacturing Engineering Manager for Avionics and Space Systems and Production and Design organizations.

• Contribute to design reviews
• Design and troubleshoot RF test setups
• Oversee introduction and implementation of new products and product revisions
• Perform initial Value Stream Mapping Exercises, Method of Manufacture plans, cell design, etc.
• Define and implement Factory layouts, Equipment selection, FAT, SAT, and production commissioning
• Lead problem containment and structured root cause & corrective action investigations
• Lead the continuous improvement process

Qualifications for RF Manufacturing Engineer II:

• Bachelor degree in engineering
• 2+ years of experience in an aerospace or similar highly regulated manufacturing environment
• Experience with RF related components
• Experience using fundamentals of electronic circuits, design principles, and manufacturing techniques

Qualifications for Senior RF Manufacturing Engineer:

• Bachelor degree in engineering
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience in an aerospace or similar highly regulated manufacturing environment
• Experience with RF related components
• Extensive experience using fundamentals of electronic circuits, design principles, and manufacturing techniques

Nice to have:

• Advanced engineering degree
• 8+ years of manufacturing experience
• Working experience with environmental acceptance/production acceptance testing
• Understanding of instrumentation, interfaces, and sensors
• Experience with LabVIEW, Python, and/or National Instruments hardware
• Experience with designing, implementing, and supporting a production line and/or build area
• Demonstrated experience with DFMEA, PFMEA methodologies, Fault Tree Analysis, Pareto analysis, root cause and corrective action
