Job Description
Rocket Lab is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Technician II/Senior to join their team in Long Beach, California. This role supports various Additive technologies (LPBF, DED, Hybrid Solutions) with various alloys and all Additive processes involved with the Rutherford & Archimedes engines. The technician will support the Manager of Additive Manufacturing and Production Additive Manufacturing organization.What this role involves:
  • Upholding and following all Additive safety measures.
  • Preparing additive print jobs.
  • Operating metal 3D printers (EOS, SLM, & DMG preferred).
  • Identifying and troubleshooting mechanical, optical laser, electrical, and build issues.
  • Conducting calibration of 3D Printers and interpret findings with Engineering.
  • Ensuring conformance of part/build through independent inspection and print detail verification.
  • Following work orders, procedures, specifications, and test instructions.
  • Performing preventative maintenance.
  • Providing process improvement feedback.
  • Collaborating with Engineers on setup and fabrication of 3D prints and new hardware.
  • Driving Additive Internal 5S system.
  • Utilizing measurement tools to ensure high quality inputs and outputs.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, assembly or testing environment (8+ years for Senior).
  • Experience operating metal 3D printers.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Proficiency in hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
  • Proficiency in inspection methods (surface plate, calipers, micrometers, height gauge).
  • Experience with operating machine tools (vertical mills, lathes, media blasters, cranes, or forklifts).
