Senior Field Applications Engineer

Job Description

Astera Labs is seeking a Senior Field Applications Engineer to serve as a trusted technical advisor to leading cloud service providers, server hardware designers, and networking OEMs. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with customers to design solutions utilizing Astera Labs' connectivity products. This role involves identifying customer requirements, proposing solutions, and providing hands-on design-in support. The engineer will play a crucial role in driving innovation and influencing the product roadmap through customer feedback.Role involves:

• Identifying and understanding customer requirements
• Proposing Astera Labs solutions
• Providing hands-on design-in support
• Driving innovation through customer partnerships
• Providing feedback to engineering teams to shape the product roadmap

Requirements:

• BS in electrical engineering (Master’s preferred)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working with Cloud service providers and server OEM customers
• Hands-on knowledge of high-speed protocols (PCIe, Ethernet, CXL, DDR, NVME, etc.)
• Strong working knowledge of PCIe LTSSM and associated standards
• Experience with silicon/system bring-up and debug in customer systems
• Experience with lab equipment (protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes, BERTs)
• Background in high-speed board design techniques and Data Center systems
