Job Description
Pure Storage is seeking a Senior Storage Benchmarking Engineer to design, execute, and analyze performance benchmarks. This role involves using industry-standard tools and collaborating with engineering, product management, marketing, and sales teams. The ideal candidate will have experience engaging with benchmark standards organizations and possess exceptional communication and writing skills.
The role involves:
- Designing and executing storage performance benchmarks.
- Performing end-to-end performance troubleshooting.
- Developing and maintaining automated benchmarking workflows.
- Analyzing benchmark results and providing actionable insights.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Engaging with benchmark standards organizations.
- Delivering high-impact presentations.
- Writing technical marketing documents.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in storage performance benchmarking or a related technical role.
- Expertise with storage benchmarking tools (fio, vdbench, SPEC SFS 2020).
- Strong end-to-end performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools (Python, Ansible, Bash).
- Experience interfacing with engineering, product management, marketing, and sales teams.
- Exceptional communication and writing skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools.
- Deep understanding of enterprise storage technologies.
