Job Description
Backbase is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager in Amsterdam to oversee the effective operation of the software delivery value stream. This role involves optimizing team performance and engineering processes, as well as managing people and broader HR topics. The Senior Engineering Manager acts as a 'mini-CTO' for the Digital Sales Value Stream, driving the overall strategy in line with the company's vision.
Role involves:
- Creating conditions for high-performing development teams.
- Collaborating with Engineering Managers to define processes and set recruitment priorities.
- Implementing a modern Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Balancing key aspects of the software development lifecycle.
- Exploring and implementing innovative technologies.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in an Engineering Leadership role in a product organization.
- Experience in managing other engineering managers besides engineering teams.
- Deep understanding of Software Engineering principles, practices, patterns, and techniques.
- Proven track record in cross team and value stream improvements and optimizations.
- Value-oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
