Job Description

SimpliSafe is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test II (SDET II) to enhance their quality engineering team. This role involves a blend of automated and manual testing, with a gradual shift towards more automation. The SDET II will collaborate with development teams to qualify microservices, APIs, UIs, and legacy applications.

The position is based in Boston, MA, and follows a hybrid work model, requiring in-office presence on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Responsibilities include:

• Creating functional test automation using script tools and open source test tools.
• Executing regression tests and finding bugs.
• Isolating and tracking defects using test tools and Linux utilities.
• Documenting testing results clearly and accurately.
• Supporting automation test framework and test tools.

Requirements include:

• Up to 3 years of experience as a Software Quality Engineer or in automation development.
• Experience writing Functional and Regression Test Plans.
• Demonstrated skill at coding and debugging Javascript, Typescript, Bash.
• Experience with open source testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Jest).
• Knowledge of multi-tier web-based applications.
