Airspace, a tech-enabled freight forwarder, is seeking a detail-oriented Global Payroll Specialist to manage payroll operations for its international workforce. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with diverse tax regulations, labor laws, and reporting requirements.Airspace is experiencing rapid growth and is looking for passionate and motivated individuals to help reshape the world of time-critical logistics. The Global Payroll Specialist will be a key member of the People Team, owning and overseeing the end-to-end payroll process for U.S. and international employees.
What this role involves: - Processing payroll across all Airspace employees.
- Maintaining compensation, health benefits, and retirement plans.
- Registering the Company with state payroll agencies and ensuring timely filings.
- Resolving employee inquiries quickly and thoroughly.
- Managing payroll vendors and external partnerships.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of international tax, social security, and retirement regulations.
- Reviewing and selecting payroll tools and vendors annually.
- Leading efforts to automate and scale payroll operations.
- Partnering with HR, Finance, and cross-functional teams to drive process improvements.
- Performing regular trend analysis across payroll periods and annual payroll audits.
- Communicating payroll policies and updates clearly and effectively.
- Staying adaptable and solution-oriented to navigate the challenges of international pay cycles.
Requirements: - 4+ years of experience in payroll, ideally with international scope.
- Knowledgeable in CA and multi-state payroll regulations.
- Proven ability to manage complex, deadline-driven processes with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using HRIS and payroll systems; tech-savvy and eager to adopt new tools.

- Familiarity with ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, GDPR, and emerging regulations is a plus.
