Marqeta is seeking a Staff Product Designer to join its Product Design team. The team is collaborative and supportive, maintaining rituals like weekly critique and bi-weekly warmups. The Staff Product Designer will play a critical role in designing solutions that help business customers build and launch card programs, focusing on a new consumer-facing product to shape the future of embedded finance. The company values craft and execution, offering a flexible-first work environment, with the option to work remotely within the United States or from the Oakland, CA office.Role involves:
- Crafting embedded finance solutions for customers and cardholders.
- Owning a major product area and leading design execution end-to-end.
- Defining future visions for key products and driving cross-functional alignment.
- Providing strong design direction and assuming responsibility for design quality.
- Seeking ways to continuously elevate the team’s craft and operations.
- Communicating and collaborating regularly with Design and cross-functional leaders.
- Proactively identifying and removing friction or uncertainty.
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional partners and key stakeholders.
- Advocating for user needs and balancing them with business needs.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of relevant design experience at a tech, product-driven company, or a design agency.
- A portfolio showcasing engaging B2C/consumer-facing products on mobile native platforms (iOS and/or Android).
- Deep expertise in product, interaction, and visual design.
- Experience leading design projects end-to-end.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
- Comfort working with distributed teams.
