Job Description

Pangea is seeking a Lead Frontend Software Engineer to help unify its three frontend applications around React Native, scale and build out new features, and grow the frontend engineering team. The engineer will contribute to building and maintaining new features that improve usability, prevent fraud, and create frontend experiences for iOS, Android, and Web.

The role involves designing, building, and maintaining frontend features and architecture, leading the completion of the frontend refactor project, establishing best practices for frontend automated tests, contributing to the maintenance and removal of platform-specific code, reviewing code, improving frontend engineering practices, and mentoring other frontend engineers. The engineer will also work with stakeholders to introduce new features for customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain frontend features and architecture
  • Lead the completion of the frontend refactor project
  • Establish and guide the frontend team to meeting best practices for frontend automated tests
  • Contribute to maintenance of and, where possible, removal of platform-specific code
  • Review code via pull requests, improve frontend engineering practices, and mentor other frontend engineers
  • Work with stakeholders from across the company to introduce new features for customers

Requirements:

  • 7-10+ years of experience in frontend development, with a significant portion in React
  • 3+ years of professional experience in React Native
  • Demonstrable advocate of best practices for frontend engineering
  • Passion for writing testable, easy to change software
  • Experienced with using observability and monitoring tools
  • Track record of mentoring other frontend developers
  • Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
  • A zeal for continuous learning and development
