Legal Counsel - Financial Regulation/Trading

Interactive Brokers is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their London team. This role involves providing regulatory and commercial legal support across IBKR’s UK, Irish, and Dubai offices. The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with a background in financial regulation. The role is based in London and reports to a senior lawyer.Interactive Brokers operates a hybrid working model in London.Responsibilities:

• Advising on UK and international financial regulatory frameworks.
• Supporting the firm’s ongoing compliance.
• Leading or supporting projects to implement legal and regulatory change.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts.
• Providing legal input on new commercial initiatives.
• Collaborating with compliance, risk, operations, and trading teams.
• Delivering training on regulatory requirements and legal developments.

Requirements:

• Qualified solicitor (England & Wales).
• 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience in financial regulation.
• Experience advising trading or brokerage firms on regulatory issues.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet tight deadlines.
• Clear and confident communicator.
