Job Description

Fictiv, a leading technology company transforming the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support and drive improvement to critical manufacturing functions. The Manufacturing Engineer will work at the interface between builders and manufacturing partners, playing a critical role in creating the world’s premier platform for hardware manufacturing.

In this role, the Manufacturing Engineer will review and analyze the manufacturability and costs associated with fabrication, using their Mechanical Engineering background and knowledge of manufacturing processes to determine necessary design changes. They will develop competitive proposals and quotations to bring products to market faster.

Responsibilities include:

  • Release Package Review: Analyze models, drawings, parts lists to determine scope of work and manufacturing requirements.
  • Quoting: Generate quotes for builders, or collaborate with external suppliers.
  • Calculator Generation: Develop cost calculators for new service offerings.
  • DFx Feedback: Provide DFx feedback to builders to improve manufacturability and reduce costs.
  • Automation Feedback: Provide feedback to the quoting software team.
  • Drawing Generation: Generate high-quality 2D drawings.

Requirements:

  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, with an inclination for documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Self-starter, manages time efficiently.
  • Enjoys sharing knowledge and teaching others.
  • 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent technical training.
  • Understanding of GD&T and conventional tolerancing.
  • Knowledge of manufacturability of common metals and plastics.
  • Exposure to multiple custom mechanical manufacturing processes.
  • CNC machining and 3D printing experience is a must.
