Supplier Development Engineer (China)

Quilt is dedicated to moving humanity off of fossil fuel heating by creating next-generation heat pump systems. The company is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to join their Hardware Operation team in Zhuhai, China. This role is crucial for ensuring the high-quality delivery of mechanical components during New Product Introduction (NPI) and Mass Production. The Supplier Development Engineer will concentrate on tooling, plastics, and metal component manufacturing quality, working closely with CM partners, manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to drive improvements.

Role Involves:

• Partnering with suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and quality systems.
• Leading tool and process qualification throughout the development cycle.
• Performing supplier audits and assessments.
• Tracking supplier performance using quality KPIs.
• Leading APQP and PPAP activities for plastic and metal components.
• Investigating root causes of supplier quality issues and driving corrective actions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in supplier quality or manufacturing engineering, with a focus on plastics and metal components.
• Strong knowledge of injection molding, plastic part design, tool fabrication, and metal manufacturing methods.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
