Job Description

iCapital is seeking an Assistant Vice President/Vice President to join its Research and Education team in Lisbon, Portugal. The role primarily involves overseeing and conducting operational due diligence on prospective and current Hedge Funds investments. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of operational risks, internal controls, and industry best practices.Responsibilities include:

• Leading operational due diligence, including site visits and interviews.
• Conducting assessments of external Hedge fund managers.
• Identifying and mitigating operational risks.
• Preparing detailed due diligence reports.
• Performing ongoing monitoring of fund managers.
• Engaging in ad-hoc projects to support the Alternatives platform.
• Collaborating with investment teams, legal, and compliance.
• Staying abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes.
• Mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, accounting, or a related field.
• MBA or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.
• 6-10 years (AVP) or 10-15 years (VP) of experience in operational due diligence, with 5-7 years in hedge funds, risk management, or internal audit.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and project management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
