Sr. Backend Software Engineer - Portfolio Data

Addepar is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join their Portfolio Data Workflows team in the UK. This role focuses on maintaining and evolving critical API services that power Addepar's financial data ecosystem, while modernizing the architecture to support expansion into European markets. The engineer will implement robust solutions that scale across multiple regions, enhance user experiences, and ensure compliance with European and international financial regulations.Role involves:

• Building and scaling API services to support a growing European customer base.
• Advancing financial models to support advanced financial products.
• Contributing to architecture designs, product roadmap, and code reviews.
• Collaborating with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.
• Being part of an expanding cross-functional organization in Edinburgh.

Requirements:

• Degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
• Experience building backend services.
• Understanding of HTTP, REST, and web API best practices.
• Experience with Java, MySQL, Elasticsearch, and AWS.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of development best practices and agile methodologies.
• Interest or experience in the financial industry or wealth management.
