Job Description
Remote is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join their team. This role is ideal for an experienced IC level designer who has mastered their end-to-end craft and can autonomously own design for their team or feature area. The Senior Product Designer may also begin to mentor others and share work that impacts the larger design team. What this role involves:
- Developing strategy for the product's feature area in partnership with leaders and cross-functional collaborators.
- Identifying the right moment to conduct research, selecting appropriate methodologies, and running research with UX research coaches' support.
- Playing a key role in vision processes and concepting, rapidly iterating through mockups to create excellent solutions.
- Bringing high-fidelity designs to life with a strong grasp of UI principles, using type, color, layout, and illustration effectively.
- Building usable flows and prototypes to aid team decision-making, focusing on refined details for a loveable product.
- Mastering the design system, knowing when to improve it rather than strictly adhering to it.
- Expressing complex flows and interactions to provide clarity, contributing to the product's information architecture.
- Mastering storytelling skills to persuade others, providing and receiving critique effectively.
- Collaborating efficiently, using feedback to improve work, and knowing when to push back or compromise.
- Providing valuable peer support, critique, and feedback, leading crit and team culture sessions, and facilitating workshops.
Requirements:
- An IC product designer with extensive experience and a portfolio demonstrating mastery of end-to-end design.
- Experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments.
- Deep Fintech, HR tech, B2B, or SaaS experience is a plus.
- A work history demonstrating the ability to autonomously own design for a team or feature area.
- An impressive portfolio showcasing design work that consistently delivers outstanding results for both the business and end-users.
- Work that demonstrates experience and product design craft through simplicity, typography, interaction design, and UI design.
- Case studies illustrating the end-to-end design process from insight gathering to problem definition, conceptual design, delivery, measurement, and optimization.
- Evidence of effective cross-functional collaboration within a dev team, using feedback, consensus building, and conflict resolution.
- Persuasive communication skills to confidently build narratives around design work, with clear, fluent written and spoken English.
- Evidence of wider influence on the design team, potentially mentoring others and sharing impactful work.
- Embodiment and demonstration of Remote's core values.
