Job Description
Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Supervisor, Production to be based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Senior Supervisor will direct the development and implementation of activities in production areas to meet production safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives. The role involves developing schedules and manpower requirements, selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel, and prioritizing production schedules.Rocket Lab is a global leader in launch and space systems, building rockets and satellites that enable ambitious space missions. The company's Electron rocket has provided reliable access to orbit since 2018, and its space systems business includes satellites and components that have supported over 1,700 missions.What this role involves:
  • Inspecting products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
  • Studying production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Providing direct supervision to non-exempt employees.
  • Interpreting company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Recommending measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggesting changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department and team.
  • Analysing and resolving work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiating or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Requirements:
  • High school Diploma
  • 10+ years of Production Supervisor experience in production or heavily regulated manufacturing environment
Nice to have:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of a semi-conductor cleanroom environment a plus.
  • Ability to read, analyse and interpret common scientific and technical journals, simple financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to read, interpret and correct engineering drawings.
  • Ability to write technical reports and procedure manuals.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and engineers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to identify problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
