Job Description
AlphaSense is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer to join its Web Infra team in Helsinki. This role focuses on enhancing the performance, scalability, and reliability of AlphaSense's frontend platform, which is built on React with a microfrontend architecture. The engineer will collaborate with product teams to identify performance bottlenecks and implement strategies for faster user experiences.

Role involves:
  • Improving performance across the React-based microfrontend architecture.
  • Identifying and codifying React performance best practices.
  • Establishing and enforcing performance targets (LCP, INP, FCP).
  • Collaborating with product teams to analyze the performance impact of new features.
  • Profiling and diagnosing runtime issues using Chrome DevTools and React Profiler.
  • Optimizing resource loading and caching strategies.

Requirements:
  • Advanced knowledge of React performance tuning.
  • Experience with large-scale frontend codebases and microfrontend architecture.
  • Deep understanding of the browser rendering lifecycle.
  • Strong background in profiling and optimizing existing codebases.
  • Proficiency in modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and build tools like Webpack.
  • Familiarity with monitoring stacks like Sentry.
  • Experience identifying performance regressions and building guardrails via CI.
