Job Description
SonicWall is seeking a Software Development Staff Engineer to design and develop new software features on SonicWall's flagship firewall product line. The ideal candidate will deliver features on time with high quality, facilitate problem diagnosis, and maintain existing software by implementing enhancements and fixing bugs. They will collaborate with other engineers, write specifications, and possess excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop new software features on SonicWall flagship firewall product-line.
  • Deliver features on time, with the highest level of quality.
  • Facilitate problem diagnosis and prompt resolution for issues reported by customers.
  • Maintain existing software features by implementing enhancements and fixing bugs.
  • Collaborate with other engineers on code reviews, test case reviews, and process enhancements.
  • Write functional and design specifications.

Requirements:
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • 5-7 years of software development experience.
  • Proficiency in C with 5+ years of experience.
  • Extensive hands-on development experience with L2 switching technologies.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and multi-threading.
  • In-depth knowledge of Networking protocols and functioning of TCP/IP stack.
  • Experience with Firewalls, VPNs, Routing technologies, High Availability is a strong plus.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and strong collaborative team player.
