PlayStation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Network Automation to join their Network Reliability Engineering (NRE) team in Berlin, Germany. This role involves modernizing the management and scaling of PlayStation's global network infrastructure through automation, orchestration, and infrastructure as code. The ideal candidate will be passionate about innovation, operational excellence, and delivering impactful, customer-focused solutions.

The Senior Software Engineer will contribute to shaping the future of network reliability at PlayStation.

What this role involves:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining network orchestration systems.
  • Building and improving internal tools for deploying, upgrading, and managing a global network infrastructure.
  • Maintaining, extending, and supporting existing automation and tooling.
  • Owning and driving projects related to network automation and tooling.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve workflows and reduce operational overhead through automation.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong understanding of network fundamentals.
  • Expertise in Python programming.
  • Proficiency in data modeling and data persistency.
  • Experience with telemetry, SNMP, sFlow, IPFIX data.
  • Experience with event-driven system architecture and messaging systems.
  • Experience with Kubernetes tooling and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of test-driven development and software testing strategies.
  • Experience with distributed code development workflows.
  • Experience with remote orchestration of network devices.
