Software Developer Manager

PALO IT is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead engineering teams on impactful digital projects in Bogota, Colombia. The Software Development Manager will play a key role in shaping the architecture, delivery, and evolution of innovative software solutions. Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional team of software engineers and technical leads
• Define best practices and drive continuous improvement in agile development methodologies, software quality, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps culture
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and business stakeholders to translate vision into scalable technical solutions
• Own delivery excellence across multiple parallel workstreams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and quality standards
• Provide technical leadership and direction, including architecture reviews, technology selection, and process optimization
• Foster a culture of innovation, inclusivity, accountability, and learning across your teams
• Manage performance, provide career development support, and cultivate team engagement

Requirements:

• Proven experience (7+ years) in software engineering, with at least 2-3 years in an engineering leadership or software management role
• Strong background in full-stack development or backend architecture in one or more of the following: Java, .NET, Node.js, Python, or modern web frameworks
• Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and delivering modern software architectures (microservices, event-driven, APIs, cloud-native)
• Comfortable leading distributed teams and scaling tech operations in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments
• Passionate about building strong engineering culture, empowering talent, and encouraging technical excellence
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to align technical and business objectives
• Familiar with DevOps practices, CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• English proficiency is a must; French or Spanish is a plus
